Dr. Jeffrey E. McAlister is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon. He completed his advanced foot and ankle fellowship training at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to this, Dr. McAlister did his surgical residency at INOVA Hospital Podiatric Surgery Residency Program in Falls Church, Virginia where he served as Chief Podiatric Surgical Resident. He also completed training at Georgetown University Hospital’s Limb Salvage Program, where he was also Chief Resident. He completed his medical training at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and holds an undergraduate degree in biological sciences with honors from the University of Iowa.
Dr. McAlister holds several licenses and certification, including board certification in forefoot, rearfoot and ankle surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. His awards include Top Doc Nominee for Phoenix Magazine and numerous educational scholarships and recognitions.
As a dedicated educator and researcher in the field of foot and ankle surgery, Dr. McAlister has published 40+ articles in leading publications, including the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Podiatry Today. He has given numerous national and international lectures and presentations at leading medical conferences. He is committed to incorporating innovative and evidence-based modalities into his practice. He is a leader in using regenerative medicine for conservative and surgical approaches to the foot and ankle.
Dr. McAlister’s specific areas of interest include: complex limb deformity correction; revision surgery; bunion correction and ankle replacements; general foot and ankle surgery and sports medicine, notably working with the running and triathlon community.
Prior to joining the team at Arcadia Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. McAlister was a surgeon at The Center for Orthopedic Research and Education (C.O.R.E) Institute in Arizona. He lives in Phoenix, with his wife and their two children. In his spare time, Dr. McAlister enjoys training and volunteering for marathon and triathlon events.
